One run, one distance, 8.960 participants from over 550 companies in downtown Graz - Raiffeisen Business Run sets new standards for the running season!

The Raiffeisen Business Run breaks participant records again: 8.960 runners aus 551 companies with employees from 83 different nations ran together through the city center of Graz and then celebrated their success at the legendary business run party.

At 18:30 p.m. the starting signal for the 23rd Raiffeisen Business Run was given by RLB General Director Martin Schaller and City Councilor Kurt Hohensinner. The five kilometer long running route led from Karmeliterplatz through Graz city center via Schubertstrasse to Hilmteich and from there back to the new finish in front of the castle gate.

In addition to the motivational calls from the audience, Antenne DJs delighted all runners along the route. After the run is before the party: we celebrated, danced and networked under a 700 m² party umbrella on Karmeliterplatz. Andreas Mauerhofer, Managing Director of the business run organizer CompanyCode, is happy about the successful event: “This year we were able to inspire more people than ever before for this unique running event. You realize that something great can come about through motivation and new ideas. A huge thank you to everyone involved and also to our partners for their trust and cooperation!”

 

The biggest teams: KNAPP AG (426 runners), Raiffeisen Landesbank Steiermark (336 runners), City of Graz (244 runners), Siemens Mobility Austria GmbH (222 runners) and AVL List GmbH (213 runners), NXP (206 runners), Diakonie de La Tour Steiermark (192 runners), Fresenius Kabi (160 runners). Close behind is UNIQA with 118 runners.

Victory faces of the Raiffeisen business run

Was with the ladies Carina is enough the fastest this year. After 16 minutes and 38 seconds she reached first place on the podium ahead of Stefanie Kurath. Annabelle-Mary Konczer took third place. The men won Raphael Siebenhofer with 14 minutes and 51 seconds, which also set the Styrian record in the 5km run at the Vienna City Marathon last weekend. Followed by Markus Hartinger and Mario Bauernfeind came third. Both teams of 3 were able to celebrate first place: the “SB Waschanlagen-Wellwash” team for men, the “OMNI-BIOTIC POWERTEAM 1” team for women and in the “Mixed” category the “runninGraz 8” team.

Prominent faces at the sporty after-business talk

Numerous prominent representatives from politics, business and sport also met for the "sporty after-business talk" at Karmeliterplatz in Graz. Among them sports councilor Kurt Hohensinner (ÖVP), after the starting signal from RLB general director Martin Schaller, was only there as an onlooker this year due to illness. UNIQA country directors were also represented John Rumpl, Saubermacher owner and chairman of the supervisory board Hans roth, Andreas Prückler from the small newspaper Michael Bruner (Antenna Styria), Gerald Zaczek-Pichler (Holding Graz) as well Michael Matuschek (Brau Union). The managing director was also on site Nicole Niederl from the magazine "Die Steirerin".
